Do you get hot when you sleep? My husband is like a furnace and it’s summertime in Texas, so yeah, we do too. So we switched out our bedding for breezy open weave linen from @schweitzerlinen and it has made all the difference! It wicks away moisture and air flows through it to keep you cool. Sleeping cool is great, but my faaaavorite part is the relaxed carefree coastal vibes and texture you can only get from linen! The contrasting white edge stitching adds just the right amount of sophistication and detail to balance out all its easy-going-ness.

My baby turns 11 years old today! I wish I could make time stop, but I can’t wait to see what comes next too! Birthdays are such a mixed bag of emotions. Annabelle is so sweet and kind. She is full of spunk, never complains, always hungry, and loves playing in water. It is 8:30 am and she is already playing on the slip and slide with her friend. I am so blessed to be her mama. I put together a quick slideshow in stories to celebrate this spunky monkey.

I have DMed with so many of you and even met some of you in person, so I know this is true: Y’all are the kindest, sweetest, most genuine, most talented bunch of people on the internet. Hands down. Which is why I feel I can tell you this. I struggled to post today. The “not good enough” thoughts kept compelling me to delete. I think we all battle those thoughts at times. I really try to keep things upbeat and positive here, but I want you to know I’m human too. I have closets that should never be opened (literal and metaphorical). My pantry shelves probably have a gritty layer of sugar on them and there’s always an escaped blueberry on the floor. I haven’t figured out how to juggle all the things and maintain (more like FIND) balance. If another kid asks me what’s for lunch/snack/dinner, I may burst. So today, let’s embrace the struggles, imperfections, and hurdles because they make us stronger and bring us together.

Happy Memorial Day! We just got back from Hawaii where we visited Pearl Harbor with my son who is very interested in WWII. It was a great and sobering experience to see/learn more about those who fought for our freedom. I pray that we never take that for granted.

The other day I shared an old video of my daughter dressed as Darth Vader and I noticed this dresser was next to her in the video. I was reminded of how it looked when I bought it off Facebook Marketplace. (Go to my stories to see the part I could snag from the video).

She looked like Cindy Lauper and Madonna gave her a makeover in the 80s. What was I thinking?!? Well, I knew she had a good soul. I saw her “True Colors” and just needed to make her look “Like a Virgin”.

I stripped it and applied a clear wax and had a countertop made. Oh, the things this dresser has seen...and now she’s in the bathroom! 🤣🙈

🤍 A front porch, of course! A front porch is a friendly wave to passers by, an umbrella when you forgot one, a welcoming outdoor room that is somehow both part of your home and part of the world out there. A front porch is perfect spot for morning coffee and afternoon tea, where time slows down and breezes invite us to linger just a little longer to appreciate the blessings of the day. I’m not at all surprised it was at the top of the must have list.
