Welcome! I am so glad you’re here! I have been working on my home office for the One Room Challenge. We are on Week 4 and will be trimming the home office DIY bookshelves. If you missed them, here are the links to WEEK 1, WEEK 2, and WEEK 3
For those of you who are new to my page, Hello! I’m Jessica, wife to Cody, and mom to 2 boys and a girl, who are SO lucky because everyday with me is like an episode of carpool karaoke! They get a ride and a show! (OK, so I’m not a great singer, but do have enthusiasm). I have a background in architecture and designed this home that we just built in a small Texas town. We self-contracted the build…and we are still finishing up a few projects. Most days you can find me on Instagram @the.old.barn
This week we continued finishing up the bookshelves, ordered sconces and a few decor pieces. I’ll take you step by step though the process.
Step 1. Trim out the front edge of the plywood. I used a 1×4 horizontal piece near the top for a possible future library ladder.
Step 2. Trim the shelves and vertical plywood pieces with 1×2 poplar.
Step 3. Caulk and fill any gaps and nail holes, mask off areas we don’t want painted.
Step 4. Prime and paint.
Ta-dah! Here she is. Hurry up and dry so I can decorate and finally unpack these boxes labeled office!
Be sure to check out how these home office DIY bookshelves will fit other projects by going to the One Room Challenge Blog: https://www.oneroomchallenge.com/orc-blog
