There’s nothing quite like seeing a modern farmhouse floor plan brought to life. This Century Oak “COF-WD-5002 farmhouse showcases how thoughtful design, natural light, and personal details can transform blueprints into a dream home.
When we toured Leslie and Stephen’s finished WD5002, we discovered creative ideas and small tweaks that made their version uniquely theirs — proof that a great plan provides the perfect canvas for customization.

Leslie spent years pinning farmhouse floor plans before discovering the Century Oak WD-5002.
“It had everything I wanted — open yet not boxy, filled with natural light, and the flow just made sense.”
The Century Oak Farmhouse appealed to her because it balanced openness with cozy, defined spaces. It’s a design that feels custom and intentional, even without major structural changes.
Step through a custom ash front door, stained to match the hickory kitchen island, and you’re welcomed by leaded glass windows and a breathtaking view straight through to the backyard.
Leslie found an artisan on Etsy to create the leaded glass insert — one of her first purchases after ordering the plans. It sets a tone of craftsmanship and character that carries through the entire home.

Just off the foyer, the front room features frosted glass doors, offering privacy while keeping the light. The powder bath pops with Sherwin-Williams Debonair, a rich, calm blue that adds color without overpowering the farmhouse whites.
Throughout the home, neutral tones — Pure White, Evergreen Fog, and natural wood — create a warm, organic flow.
The screened porch is a daily favorite. French doors open from both sides of the fireplace, inviting breezes and extending the living space outdoors. Facing south, the porch stays bright but comfortable all day.
“We can’t wait to enjoy coffee out here every morning.”
Large 2 × 2 screen panels maximize the view — a simple tweak that makes a big difference in the farmhouse outdoor living experience.

The living room embodies rustic elegance: stained scissor trusses, painted tongue-and-groove ceilings, and exposed rafters painted white for contrast.
The show-stopping brick-tile fireplace is wrapped in salvaged barn wood beams reclaimed from a barn originally on the property — a perfect nod to its rural roots.
“We took beams from the old barn, had them kiln-dried, and reused them on the mantel. Now that history lives in our home.”

The Century Oak WD5002 dining room surprises most visitors with its generous size. A large family table fits easily, with room left for a buffet or sideboard. The open connection to the kitchen and living areas keeps conversation and light flowing naturally.
This is a great example of how the open floor plan farmhouse design promotes togetherness without sacrificing defined zones.

Leslie reconfigured her kitchen slightly — moving the refrigerator to make room for a hutch-style coffee bar. The result is a space that feels tailored, efficient, and high-end.

The adjacent butler’s pantry hides a second refrigerator, sink, and blender station — ideal for keeping the main kitchen clutter-free.

The primary bedroom balances comfort and sophistication with a paneled accent wall, iron-ore barn door, and ample light.
The ensuite features matching hickory cabinetry, quartzite countertops, and a large walk-in shower with a linear niche. A small higher window ensures privacy while keeping the space bright and airy.

Everyday Function Made Beautiful
The mudroom lockers in Sherwin-Williams Evergreen Fog provide everyday organization. Nearby, a laundry dog wash station keeps paw prints under control — and has already proven its worth!
“We’ve used it four times in our first week here — it’s a lifesaver.”

The first-floor guest bedroom doubles as an in-law suite with a full bath and optional private entrance. Upstairs, a bonus loft provides a hang-out spot for teens, while each bedroom showcases personal style — from a blue-gray boy’s bath to a lavender-and-white girl’s room.
A smart Jack-and-Jill bathroom gives each daughter her own vanity while maximizing storage and charm.
The result is a classic Southern farmhouse exterior — bright, timeless, and welcoming.
“We bought this land when we were newlyweds, planning to build someday. Now that dream finally came true.”
